Virginia’s Philpott Manufacturing Extension Partnership, operating as GENEDGE ALLIANCE, is seeking a talented professional to join our statewide network of industry consultants. This position will be based in Southside Virginia with service provided to clients statewide.
Our Project Managers are responsible for working with clients on a consultant basis. The role will involve assessing opportunities, determining an appropriate scope of work, and subsequently providing the contracted service. Project Managers are expected to manage projects to a successful completion, creating positive impact for the client.
Salary:
A salary commensurate with experience and full Commonwealth of VA benefits are included in the compensation package.
Application Deadline:

Minimum Qualifications:
A BS degree in an engineering or business discipline is required. The qualified candidate will have had progressively responsible experience in Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) including training, mentoring and implementation within a manufacturing or service environment.
The position requires efficient project management, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, along with highly effective verbal and written communications. Demonstrated success with strategic engagements at the corporate level is expected.
Additional Qualifications and Experience:
Professional certification in CPI (e.g. LSS BB) would be highly beneficial. Also, expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas would be a significant advantage:
- Innovation, commercialization and growth
- Product development
- Supply chain management
- Energy management and sustainability
- Manufacturing engineering or process technical support
Special Requirements:
The position requires significant overnight travel. Selected applicant must pass a criminal records background check. Documents verifying identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be presented upon employment.
The successful candidate will be expected to work out of a home office, but will have access to administrative support and shared office space at the GENEDGE ALLIANCE’S headquarters in Martinsville, VA at Patrick Henry Community College.
